The Math centre was started in 1910 and made a sub-centre under Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, in April 2004. It was made a full-fledged branch of Ramakrishna Math in August 2005.
Activities of the Math centre:
- A library and a reading room with 1340 books.
- A weekly homoeopathic dispensary, which treated 2077 patients (new 198).
- Daily worship, Arati and Bhajans.
- Ramnam Sankirtan on Ekadashi days.
- Celebration of the birth anniversaries of religious celebrities.
- Religious discourses in the Ashrama on Saturdays and Sundays; occasional discourses in and outside the town.
The Mission centre was started in April 2005.
Activities of the Mission centre:
- Free distribution of milk and biscuits to 80 poor children daily.
