This centre was started in rented houses in 1956, and was moved to its own present premises in 1958.
Activities :
- A students' home for 50 college boys.
- A library and a reading room, with 12,638 books, and 43 periodicals and newspapers.
- A charitable homoeopathic dispensary, which treated 4869 cases (new 762) this year.
- A free mobile dispensary to serve different slum areas in and around Chandigarh (25,348 cases treated this year).
- The ashrama conducted three eye camps this year, in which 28 patients were operated on.
- Religious activities : Spiritual discourses four days a week, fortnightly Ramnam Sankirtan, celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda, and other saints and prophets, weekly cultural and religious classes for children, and occasional lectures in and around Chandigarh as well as in several cities of Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
