The Mission centre was started in 1914 and taken over in 1925.
Activities of the Mission Centre :
- Vivekananda Polyclinic and Institute of Medical Sciences (Phones: 237-1233 & 232-1277): The inpatient department has 300 beds, and it treated 10,830 cases this year. The outpatient department treated 8,09,218 cases (new 1,23,286) through its different sections : general medicine, general surgery, ENT, dentistry, ophthalmology, ICU, neonatal intensive care unit, neurosurgery dialysis unit, pathology, radiology, blood bank, psychiatry, gynaecology, TB, family planning, homoeopathy, ayurveda, etc.
- The mobile medical unit treated 3,57,982 (new 31,934) cases during the year.
- The school of nursing had 60 trainees this year.
- The centre spent a sum of Rs. 60,765 by way of pecuniary help.
The Math centre was started in 1982.
Activities of the Math centre :
- A library with 35,475 books and 92 periodicals; 21,600 were issued during the year.
- Daily worship and bhajans, fortnightly Ramnam and Shyamnam Sankirtans, and weekly religious discourses and lectures.
- Celebration of the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother Sri Sarada Devi, Swami Vivekananda, and other religious celebrities, as also Durga Puja and other festivals.
