The centre, situated in the Sagar Island, was started in 1928.
Activities :
- A madhyamik school with 765 boys.
- A junior basic school with 217 boys.
- A special cadre primary school with 268 girls.
- A students' home with 65 boys.
- Nine coaching centres with 334 students, mostly from the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes.
- Sixteen non-formal education centres with 1223 students.
- Two libraries having 4648 books.
- Training in weaving, tailoring, carpentry, and knitting to 30 trainees.
- A charitable homoeopathic dispensary: 5414 cases treated (new 2413).
- Weekly medical camps at different places in the Sagar Island (8664 patients treated).
- Welfare work by way of providing food, milk, medicines, pecuniary help, etc. to the poor and needy, as also educational aids to poor students.
- Religious activities : Regular spiritual classes and celebration of the birth anniversaries of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, and Swami Vivekananda.
