The ashrama was started in 1922 and made a branch of the Mission in 1926.
Activities :
- A charitable dispensary with homoeopathic and allopathic sections. 1,44,956 cases (new 31,846) were treated.
- A mobile medical unit, which treated 8060 patients.
- A library and a free reading room, with 35,231 books (12,204 issued), and 63 newspapers and periodicals.
- A free-of-charge students' home for 25 students.
- Imparting education to 25 economically backward girls, free of cost.
- Relief and welfare work by way of distributing food, milk, clothing, blankets, etc to the poor and needy.
- Competitions in recitation, essay-writing, and elocution for school and college students.
- Religious activities : Regular scriptural classes and lectures, celebration of Durga Puja, Kali Puja, and the birthdays of Sri Ramakrishna, Holy Mother, Swami Vivekananda, and other spiritual luminaries.
